So what-do-you-know, that handy-dandy mineral oil that I used for the butcher block has many uses...today, I found out (thank you Pinterist) that it can also be used to eliminate grime and grease on stainless steel appliances. Ever since following SCD, I have had to cook A LOT. Therefore, grease builds up and there are finger prints on our appliances.
To see if this new 'wonder' oil would do the trick, I tried it on the hood of our gas stove. Here, you can see the ugly grease...how embarrassing!
Then, after simply putting the mineral oil on paper towels and wiping it down, the hood is now all shiny and you can actually see the reflection of the cabinets!
Of course, after such results, I couldn't just stop there...so I may or may not have used this process on the fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker. Even Captain America noticed the 'brand new' appliances. So this piece of happiness was a definite success.

I will have to try this idea. I've only been able to find one thing that works to get our stainless steel appliances spotless....and that is mixing water, baking soda, and Dawn dish soap together. I rub it on the stainless steel, rinse it off, and then wipe it dry. It works great, but it's kind of tedious and time consuming. I will have to try this new idea of mineral oil.
Yes! This was super easy and only one liquid needed. Since the oil doesn't soak into the appliances like it does wood, you do have to follow-up with clean towels or paper towels. Still, very easy cleaning!
